I researched then chose a Subaru. Man, am I happy! In the mountains life must go on in the cold and snow. There's no choice! I confidently and safely drive on roads thru conditions that would keep me homebound in KS! I love my Subaru! I've told my family: I may even start sleeping with it!

Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (5 reviews) Before this forester i owned an 02 forester for 13 years. A forester is the only option this time also. Subaru Forester was the first to voluntarily install side air bags. To me that is a company committed to safety. Subaru's get the highest 5 star crash rating in govt testing, reliability is high, goes in the snow and any conditions safest care to own and drive. I'm an ex defensive driving instructor and safety and reliability is important to me. I dont like the 13's and newer models as they raised the height and hence center of gravity and dont hold the road as well and why i got an 11.

Meeting ALL expectations!

Specifically wanted the safest car we could afford for our teenage daughters to drive. Its build quality, crash test ratings (and real life reputation), and great fuel economy give us peace of mind. The Subaru Forester is also a lot of fun to drive, and ts enormous sunroof gets lots of kudos from their friends (i.e. all the light without the wind of a convertible).

big car, nice but terrible city gas mileage

terrible gas mileage. I upgraded from a honda fit because I needed more space to haul around my booth (I am an artists who does a lot of craft shows and needed a vehicle that could handle the weight) I expected the mileage to be close to the sticker (22city/27hwy) and seriously, total lies. I drive "highway" often, but the only time I saw 27 mpg was on a road trip (1400+ miles). I was regretting not getting the VW tdi diesel wagon, but now that VW was exposed for fraud regarding emissions, I am only moderately ok with choosing the subaru.

Subaru Forester LL Bean spoiled me!

I'm an older retired guy that's a very careful driver. I've never felt better or safer than with this car. Even like it better then Lincoln Town Car I had. Drives great, so comfy and SO many gadgets to play with. Plenty of power, good gas mileage. 17.455 for all in town short trips. 27 highway. So proud to own.
