I absolutely love my forester! It drives so well. It feels really stable in bad weather as well. I definitely think it deserves all the great reviews on its safety. Its the perfect size too. You can also fit tons of things/people/dogs it and be very comfortable. I know some people complain that its noise and I can tell a little difference from my old car but not to a point that it really bothers me. The drivers seat doesn't have much support or adjustment so on long drives my body aches a bit but I'm sure a good foam cushion or some lumbar support would fix that. Overall I can't think of a better compact SUV and will probably buy another Subaru when its time for a new vehicle again.
This car is comfortable, fun to drive, and good on gas(as long as you keep your foot out of the floorboard)!, but there is too much cabin noise. I average 20 in town and 28 on the highway on non-ethanol premium fuel. Fuel that contains ethanol causes that to drop to 17/25. Cabin noise is only irritating if its windy outside, it becomes terrible if the sun roof is open! Audiophiles will want to plan on upgrading the audio system, but most people should be happy with the factory system. I love this car and I will probably keep it for the next six years or so. I've already put 3,000 miles on it, and I've only had it for a month. I will up date this review in about a year.
