The forester drives well, handles well and gives you the feel of an SUV without being large and cumbersome. I was afraid I would have trouble adjusting from my tiny Nissan Sentra to this, but it's been a breeze. Steering wheel is a a bit smaller than some, but it's actually been a nice change and makes is easier for the occasional one-handed driving. I love the auxiliary jack for my ipod. Lots of room for cargo. Back seat isn't that spacious, but I don't have kids or carseats, so it's great for me.
One of the most amazing things about the car is the mileage. After every trip, the miles per gallon used is shown. I cannot say how often it is 34.7 or 30 plus miles per gallon. It was not supposed to be this good according to what was reflected on the window. I am very impressed.
It is also one of the smoothest running vehicles I have ever owned.
