This is my 4th Subaru that I have purchased. Overall my family including myself have owned 7 since I was a little kid. So needless to say I'm probably biased in favor of the brand. But as you can see in my rating, I'm trying to be totally honest and unbiased. First off, if you are not into small, sporty, fast cars, then this is NOT the vehicle for you. The ride is fairly stiff, seats are average in comfort. However, I'm a compact performance car enthusiast, so I tend to overlook creature comforts in favor of crisp handling and quick acceleration. This car has lots both! I've only put a couple of thousand miles on it so far, so quality is kind of hard to judge, however overall I'm pleased with the quality and build of the car. In terms of pleasing the enthusiast, this car has the turbo, weight saving aluminum hood, upgraded suspension, and hood scoop that feeds the top mount intercooler. Trust me when I say this, the brakes on this vehicle are a 110% improvement over previous Subaru braking systems. You also get the standard 17in aluminum alloys, a very sporty touch with the low profile tires. Performance is excellent. Crisp handling, first class acceleration and power, certainly a car that is very fun on the on-ramps to the freeway. On the downside with this, is the fairly unforgiving suspension. Purely my opinion, others may think it is better or worse. On the very positive side, the all wheel drive is great! I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to go back to front wheel drive again, unless I was forced to. Great system, Subaru knows what they are doing with AWD. I'm a fan of the appearance of the Impreza WRX, however I've been a fan of their cars for a long time, several other people probably don't see it in the same light that I do. The seats for me aren't quite as comfortable as my last Impreza, however this car is more geared for the enthusiast, so it has the large and supportive side bolsters that work very well keeping you in the seat when you're out there having a little fun. However I'm a bigger guy, so either I'm a touch too big for the seats, or they haven't quite been broken in yet. Hard to tell. Overall, a GREAT car if you like the sporty compacts that have some serious power. Great if you are into modifying cars as well. Gas mileage has been below what I expected so far, and with premium being the recommended fuel, I'm very happy that gas prices continue to be low at this time, although I'm sure it won't last. Not something I would recommend to someone that is looking for a compact car that is going to get good gas mileage and be ultra comfortable. I love this car, but I can also see how others would not find value in it. Recommend it for the performance enthusiast. If you want the AWD with the softer ride and better mileage, look at the Impreza 2.5i.
Great car super fast. Handles well. Fun to drive and room to hall stuff. Ok on gas average 25 mpg.
This car is insanely quick, I rally raced my pal with an Evo IX and whooped him. When the turbo spools up you pretty much take root in the seat-back. The maintenance is pretty heavy, but thats expected for such a performance car. I love it!!
