Transmission: Automatic Color:Gray Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.666666666666667 reviews) I bought a first generation Prius, when they first came out, and that is when I fell in love with them. I fell on hard times financially and had to get rid of it back then, but always vowed to get another. Now I am fortunate to have a third generation Prius (used) and am still in love with them. My roommate has a second generation Prius himself! We both love them! Heck, you can't beat going to the gas station and filling up for less than $25-$30 and making it last all week! With my old vehicle (a Nissan Xterra) that wouldn't last 2 days!! This time I'm keeping my Prius forever!

Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.470588235294118 reviews) I would, however I was very disappointed that Carmax sold me a car that has (as I discovered a few months in) rust spots along various bolt, etc. When I put a hitch on it, many of he bolts were rusted in. Also, there is rust around the lever where you flip open the gas tank. It is too bad Carmax was not willing to mention this on any of their inspections. I did not realize that I needed my own mechanic to inspect the vehicle.

Love Toyota Rav-4 - Not so in love with Carmax

I would, however I was very disappointed that Carmax sold me a car that has (as I discovered a few months in) rust spots along various bolt, etc. When I put a hitch on it, many of he bolts were rusted in. Also, there is rust around the lever where you flip open the gas tank. It is too bad Carmax was not willing to mention this on any of their inspections. Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Handles very well
  • Reliability: Runs well
  • Cargo Space: Lots of storage

Cons

  • Cabin Noise: Lots of rattling inside the car
  • Technology and Entertainment: CD player stopped working within 2 months
  • Fuel Economy: 22-23 mpg

I'm Back In Love With My Car!

I bought a first generation Prius, when they first came out, and that is when I fell in love with them.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: Goes without saying! You can't beat it!!
  • Reliability: I owned a first generation Prius and always loved them!

Cons

  • Visibility: The back window could have been designed better.

2 major repairs in less than 6 months

I’ve had this 2010 Prius for less than 6 months and I’ve had 2 major repairs in that short time. One, the electric pump shut down and the other a major computer system failure. I’m glad I also purchased the extended warranty!

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: I spend less on gas

Cons

  • Braking: ABS stopped working while driving
  • Cost to Maintain: The cost without the warranty is more than the cars worth
  • Weather Versatility: Not great for the unpredictable weather in Texas
