I bought this car as a replacement for an SUV. We already had another SUV, and given gas prices it didn't make sense to have 2, so we decided to sell one SUV and go for a sedan. It was a bit of a mourning process for me, as I loved my SUV! But, the Avalon has truly proven to be a wonderful choice.
It is a very slick looking car, having a luxury appearance without the luxury price. The limited is a tri-coat paint scheme, giving it a metallic pearl-whitecolor which is very classy. The interior is well-apportioned, with leather seats and leather and wood trim done very stylishly. There is enough room for 5 to sit comfortably.
The Avalon's performance is greater than I expected. Of course, it is not a sports car and doesn't have the same horsepower as some other cars in its class, but the pick-up-and-go, acceleration, and maneuverability of the Avalon is perfect for my needs (I do both city and highway driving). In fact, I have been surprised sometimes at how well those horses under the hood run!
Optional accessories, like the moon roof, rear windshield shade, and heated/cooled seats, make the Avalon a class above other cars I test drove. And there were many! I tested out the Ford Taurus - I liked the power, but the 2012 Taurus felt "cheap" compared to the Avalon (very sad to see it, too, since I had a 1995 Taurus and loved it). The Chrysler 300 was also tested. I loved its luxurious feel, and it had a few more bells and whistles than the Avalon, but its reliability scared me a bit. Toyota has a very strong reconrd of reliability.
In short, I'd definitely recommend this car to anyone - at least give it a look!

Extremely satisfied with the performance and quality of this vehicle.
Seats are very comfortable both at front and back.
MPG is averaging over 24 which is good for a vehicle this size.
Air conditioning unit is very efficient considering our temperatures in Florida have been in the 95's.
Only improvement needs to be the sound system and interior noise.
Overall I love this car and would buy a later model.
Great car good price

Just a real nice car. Isn't flashy. Deceptively roomy. Folks who get in it are pleasantly surprised to find out how nice it is. Great on the highway. So far no complaints...but the pre-purchase reviews said it would be this way.
