We bought the Camry Hybrid after watching gas prices skyrocket and we are glad we did. We love the convenience and luxury this Hybrid offers. It averages 35 - 36mpg driving to town daily. We traded down from a CUV that averaged about 17 mpg and the savings on gas will recover the cost of the Hybrid system in 2 years for us. Very comfortable for a "smaller'' car, and it accelerates well for passing, but it is a compromise for our 'hauling needs'.
Like others have said, "it alters your overall driving habits to save fuel". My wife loves the lower fuel expense while not giving up luxury and safety. Definitely won't be our last Toyota product.
it's the environment stupid

Nice ride, probably not as good a value as the xle, but how often do you get a chance to save the whales?
The environmental benefits of hybrid vehicles appeal to two types of car buyers: the driver who is concerned about climate change and pollution, and the wallet-conscious driver who wants to capitalize on the impressive fuel economy that hybrids offer.
