Good, fuel efficient vehicle

I have owned by 2010 Camry Hybrid for a few months now. It is a well built, reliable car that will deliver 35 mpg city and hwy, provided that you drive "nicely". As a prior BMW roadster owner, I must say that this car will deliver virtually no thrills to the driver. The suspensions are cushy, the handling relatively poor, the acceleration is modest and the breaking unimpressive. However, this is not meant to be a performance car. It is meant to be a comfy ride that gets almost 500 miles with a tank of gas. At that, this car is excellent. The seats are great, driving position perfect, the sound system awesome. There is also plenty of room in the trunk. So ask yourself what kind of driver you are and what kind of ride you are looking to buy. You cannot have the cake and eat it too, or at least so I figured. If you are on the market for a fuel-efficient car that does not look and drive like a space-ship (see Prius) or that does not have the appearance of Mickey Mouse's car (see the Honda Insight), the Camry is the way to go. Its price tag is comparable to the Civic Hybrid, but the latter is definitely a category below as a whole. So, your call.

Camry Hybrid

I love this car. It's style is beautiful, color deep and rich; mine is blue ribbon metalic (dark royal blue). It is roomy, has everything--moon roof, navigation, upgraded sound system, fully automatic. Very good pick-up. Best car I ever owned. Gas mileage is about 35-40 miles to the gallon. Lots of room in the trunk. I gave comfort a 4 because the headrest leans forward, but because I am not so tall, it isn't an issue.

My wife says that when she is pregnant she nests by rearranging the house. She says that I nest by getting a new car. When she was pregnant with our youngest I said we needed to get a mini-van. We had been driving around in a Honda Fit, and I had heard that Odysseys were great vans. They maybe, but when it came to gas mileage our 2007 van was getting 17 in the city and 22 on the highway. That was a shock that I wasn't prepared for. As gas prices have soared it became clear that we needed something to drive that cost less to fill up than the monthly payment. We went from spending close to 400 dollars a month in gas to, oh, 120!!! Ask me if I love my Toyota Camry Hybrid. Uh, yeah.
