I went from a full size pick-up truck to the Corolla LE a few weeks ago in a preemptive move to save big money on my 108 mile daily commute. What a smart move that was. The Corolla is a great little car that gets GREAT gas mileage. I have absolutely no problem getting to or maintaining speed (5-speed transmission) on the highway and the car does very well on those twisty Northern Maryland back roads. I find the interior to be just fine for the price. I focused on practicality with this auto buy and am extremely satisfied with my choice.

It was hard to go wrong with a car that had all the options I wanted, gets great gas mileage, was cheaper than the Civic by aprroximately $3,500 & is one of the most reliable cars in its class. My daughter has a 2005 Corolla LE (basically the same car) & she's had no problems at all. The car is deceptively roomy for a smaller car & handles well on the highway in a myriad of conditions plus it gets the rated mileage (35 mpg on my first long trip).
