Transmission: Automatic Color:Gray Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.427 reviews) Transitioned to my Corolla from an 2001 Chevy Blazer. So far I am loving the car overall. It has great gas mileage, and the handling is good. I feel for an '09 the interior could be updated into something more 'modern'. I do sometimes forget I am driving a 2009. But overall I love my little car, and would recommend it to anyone.

Corolla S 4d Sedan 1.8 L, AUTO, Black

In April, we bought the new 2009 Corolla S loaded (except for the 6 CD Player, GPS and Blue Tooth features) and for under $20K. We love it. The 1.8, 4 cylinder has plenty of pep (they said the 2009 engine has been tweaked and after test driving the Honda Civic, we agree). So far, our Corolla gets about 28.5 avg. mpg, mostly suburban driving. It is almost an XRS model less the 2.4 L and the 17" wheels. But, this S has the same styling as the XRS and the wider stance does turn heads out on the road. The 16" alloy wheels look great on this black beauty. We added the side-trim molding, the weather floor mats and the rear bumper guard, making it a little unique. Also, we added the cargo net which has come in handy several times. The interior is very comfortable for this size car and in fact was personally more comfortable than the Honda Accords that we test drove. The rear seating, without the hump in the floor, makes it very comfortable. The instrumentation on the dash is simple and not confusing to use like other brands we test drove. We love the moon-roof that either pops up or retracts and lets in a lot of light and helps to cool down the interior. Our S model also has the optional stability control and trac suspension (normally standard on the XRS) making the back roads fun to drive. We keep this baby in the garage.

Review

I test drove all sorts of Toyotas and picked the Corolla. Money was no option. Corolla was the best designed car Toyota had, period. I design machines for a living.

Paid a little too much

Very dependable, looks newer than its age. Sitting in the passenger's seat of my friend's Ford , I am so glad I chose the Corolla - the 4 door small sedan he had already sounds "ragged out" - it's a year older, but only has 6K more miles than mine. I wish I would have looked a little closer - no cruise control. And the alternator went out only a month after driving it. Other than that, no complaints.
