Transmission: Automatic Color:Gray Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.875 reviews) My husband and I bought our FJ in July 2006. It is the absolute BEST vehicle I have ever owned!!! I am the primary driver for this vehicle. When I was looking for the right SUV I compared the FJ to the H3, Jeep liberty and the Xterra. After looking at a side by side comparison of interior space, features and capabilities on all of the SUV's I decided to test drive the FJ. I had already driven all of the other SUV's on my list but put off driving the FJ because it just seemed too good to be true and I was afraid to have my dream bubble burst when I drove it (I thought it would drive like a Jeep Wrangler probably because I wanted one terribly when I was a teenager and when I finally got the money together to buy my first car the test drive was a disappointment to say the least). Of course, I fell in love the minute I started driving the FJ. Some great points: *I like the big dashboard with a flat windshield...It keeps the sun off of both myself and the interior making summers easier. *I got the package with a subwoofer and really put to use the Ipod auxillary jack. *My GPS fits perfectly next to the rearview mirror without obstructing my view making it easy to follow directions and keep an eye on what's behind me. *The interior is beyond easy to keep clean with the water resistant set up (I had no trouble cleaning up a little accident one of my smaller dogs made, something that would not have been so successful with traditional interior). *It is great for families with large breed dogs, my 120 lb. Great Dane actually likes to use the back seat instead of the cargo area with the seats down and has no trouble getting in and out even though he is almost 13 years old. (make sure you get the runners) *I have a 2 year old and this vehicle has kept the sun off of her and any messes she makes a breeze to clean up. *The turn radius is incredible. I cannot tell you how often I've had passengers exclaim over it. *Everyone I let drive this vehicle starts talking about when they will get one, even my mother who told me she thought it was too large for her...then drove it and couldn't stop talking about how easy it was to drive. *It is great for road trips. We crammed 4 adults and a baby into it, loaded the cargo area and never even used the roof rack for a 2 day drive...we all had fun and I didn't cry when I tried to clean it out because it was easy to clean. (there is something kinda fun about taking this truck on a roadtrip, it makes you feel you can go anywhere) *It handles beautifully in all weather conditions, including floods. I have tested snow, rain (of biblical proportions), ice and floods with no problem. Some downsides: (yes, I know but I gotta be fair) *The plastic interior on the doors really does seem to scratch too easily. *The only thing I didn't like when I bought it was the fact that no sunroof option is offered. *You MUST make sure to get the rear sensor for backing up...all SUV's are dangerous due to their blind spots and the FJ's rear "sonar" alarm is a lifesaver. *The suicide doors are fun but beware people who cannot park and don't leave you much room. I have still managed to do ok regardless. *My final thing that is absolutely important to remember is the flat windshied isn't just annoying because it is some type of bug suicide zone (much worse than a traditional windshield) but you HAVE to watch for those annoying rocks that seem to come out of nowhere. The flat windshield makes it more likely to sustain damage instead of the rock glancing off. This windshield is NOT cheap to replace and the windshield repair companies are not all that experienced with this new vehicle either. My morning commute reminds me of a game of asteroid as I carefully scan for incoming rocks to avoid (Big trucks always seem to be hiding a few and dump trucks are the devils work!). Well, as you can see. I love my FJ. Just test drive one and you'll see for yourself...

Good SUV w/ Great Off-Road Features

This is a good SUV, with great off-road capabilities. You have to keep this in mind when buying the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams, this means you are sacrificing some option to get this SUV. As other reviews state this is not a luxury SUV so you are not getting automatic seats w/ heated/cooling features or carpet throughout or a moon roof or automatic parallel parking. You will get a stylish unique SUV that will take you place these other SUVs won't because of the 4x4 features no other SUV will offer. If you're go into buying the FJ Cruiser with that mindset you will not be disappointed. But if you looking for an Explore or Audi Q5 then you will be extremely turned off by the FJ Cruiser This is my daily driver.
