Fun, safe, reliable, 4wd.
2008 Toyota FJ CruiserRick Lowe - Sparks, NV06/05/2016
It 4 wheels in the woods awesomely, has great pick up, pulls a 5k trailer, gets 20-24 mpg, does beautifully in the snow, and is just plain fun to drive. She's quiet, and comfortable too, controls are easy to see & use.
BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL FJ 40
2008 Toyota FJ CruiserPura Vida - Cripple Creek, CO06/03/2016
It has modern comfortable appointments and just as capable off road as the original FJ40. All the complaints about visibility are true but if you know how to use mirrors and are a competent driver you won't have a problem. The so called expert reviewer that left a 1 star feedback forgets the visibility was limited in the original FJ and the ride much less comfortable than the evolved FJ. Very happy with my CARMAX purchases - got this FJ with less than 15k on it in 2014!

My fishing buddy says I have the only sport utility vehicle actually designed for off-road use, of all his friends who own sport utilities. It is great on-road also. This vehicle dominates the back country; getting me into remote areas for fishing seldom fished streams. And gets me back out when the weather turns foul, providing me with the confidence to make those trips I was reluctant to in my four wheel drive pickup. I like the compactness; the wheels are at the corners. It has 1.64 times the power of my pickup and gets 20% better gas mileage. The off-road features included in this 'Team Trails' package are what I would have ordered custom, and the all white color sets it apart from standard FJs. I like traditional part-time four wheel drive with low range; I also have VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), Traction Control and locking rear differential. I stopped for a BBQ at a road side stand and the guy says "is that your truck?" I said "yes". He replies "that's wicked, man..." He's right. The only criticism might be that rear visibility is not as good as my pickup.
