I've had my Fj Cruiser for five years now. I'm currently living in Germany. I've traveled all around Europe with it. The European men are attracted to my truck. (awkward) But, I love driving it around on my adventures. While its not the fastest on the autobahn for obvious reasons I can still pass when i need to. I had to take the roof rack off due to low clearances in the parking garages, lol, but, I can get under the test barrier limiter. Everywhere I go, every country i travel to i get a new country sticker for my truck. So, far, I've collected 10 different country stickers to put in the trucks service record book. Its been a very good truck as it has developed its own personality along the many miles its traveled. Its not fond of new tires. Each time i buy new tires one of them has to be flat. I dont understand this as i dont drive over anything that would do that action. but, for some reason, the truck always finds a way to flatten one tire. I'm able to go over the terrain with ease, plow through the snow with ease and go anywhere i want with no problems. its a great truck. and while its starting to show its age and my abuse i still take care of its important parts. it still runs like a champ ive done the typical modifications to it that everyone who owns a 4x4 does and it still performs. I love my truck, i have about 80K on it right now, i plan on going for a million miles or more. I've been tempted from time to time to trade it in for a smaller suv to acomadate the small spaces in Europe, however, i would be disappointed in myself as ive developed an attachment to my truck being an original owner when it first came out in 06 as a 07 model. the gas mileage does go up once the roof rack comes off. i get about 19/24 from it. i can pack as much gear in the back of it as any conventional truck. where ever i go i manage to get just enough in it to complete the weekend. i cam remember all the people who ever rode in its passenger seat on my travels. its sad when fj wanna be's give up and trade it in due to whatever reason. if you are a true blood owner you would go the distance with you machine. i've been many places with my fj and plan to go many more. i plan on many years of ownership. toyota did an awesome job putting this truck together, i would buy another one in the future if we are still around.
It's a great truck and very well built. Fun to drive!
Best mid size SUV out there. Toyota should be advertising and promoting this vehicle more than it does. Seems like no dealers have them or they only have one or two on the lot.....It's a shame, it's a great vehicle, very roomy, powerful, nice size, and great on gas.
