Customer Review Summary for 2006 Toyota Highlander
2006 Highlander is a good buy

Bought this vehicle from CarMax. Got the warranty because it was a little older than we wanted. So far the car has proven to be the best we have ever had. A lot of room and plenty of power. Wish it was a little better on gas but the rest of the comfort pays off the cost of gas. The 2006 is a good purchase.

Glad I chose this vehicle. It looks great. V6 has great pickup. Smooth ride. Great cargo space for the size of the vehicle. Feels very spacious. The third row seat is not built for adults. No leg room but I don't plan on riding adults back there. I keep the seat folded flat which gives me more storage. This vehicle is not a luxury vehicle. It is a workhorse for a family. The trim level is basic and I really disliked the LOOK of the radio so I just had a nicer one installed. It performed well. It just didn't have the aux port or the usb port. It has plenty of cup holders and storage compartments.
The one big negative is the upholstery. It's tan and the texture of it attracts dirt like a magnet. Good luck keeping it clean. Toyota also put that same upholstery on the door of all places and the arm rests. I like my car clean so this is a problem that I'm currently trying to figure out how to deal with. I don't think scotch guard will do the trick and I hate seat covers. The gas mileage isn't bad for a mid sized SUV. I get about 325 miles to a tank full. I can live with that. All that being said, I really enjoy the driving experience I get from it and I don't regret my purchase.
