Perfect SUV

Handles great, all dashboard controls simple and well layed out. Lots of storage space. Good looking.

2011 Highlander Limited 4WD

I bought my car in the middle of March. So far I have not found a single thing wrong with it. The fit and finish is perfect. I love the wood interior around the dashboard controls in the limited. The leather is soft and luxurious. The dashboard gauges are nicely lit and highly visible at all times of the day. The JBL sound system is sweet. The navigation system is great and I love the screen size. I also like the information screen above which displays different things such as fan speed, outside temperature, gas mileage, and other vehicle messages. I love the back up camera which displays on the bigger navigation screen. There are lots of steering wheel controls. I really like the automatic hatch opening/closing, esp. when it comes time to close it since it keeps me from having to pull down on the outside and possibly get my hands little dirty. The only thing I would want changed is to have the tilting steering wheel tilt upward further. Otherwise the inside is practically perfect. It has more than enough room and cargo space, more than my older 4Runner had. But what I love most of all is the smooth engine performance integrated with the transmission. It could not be better. The pickup and horsepower is fantastic. The outside is stylish and cool looking and sort of beefy looking by Highlander standards. My gas mileage has steadily increased over the past month and a half/1000 miles. It started out around 16.2 mpg. When I filled it up again today I calculated 18.4 mpg. I hope this trend continues for many miles to come.

Excessive Squeaks

After just 4000 miles on my new 2011 Toyota Highlander Limited, squeaks have started on the passenger side. I have moved everything, readjusted the unused seatbealts, looked for anything loose and the squeak is still there. It is very prevalent when you take your foot off the gas pedal. Large blind spot on passenger side. Not as bad as the FJ blind spot, but it's still bad. Hard down shifting into first gear when slowing to turn to go up a very steep hill. Thought this would have been fixed after the 2007 Highlander transmission problems.
