Plus, there's plenty of cargo room. Gas mileage is fair for the size and weight of this vehicle, and it has a very good safety record.

Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.571 reviews) I recently purchased a 2012 Toyota Highlander & I've been happy with my decision. The Highlander is comfortable, roomy with a good sized cargo space, & has the features I was looking for. Living in WI I wanted a vehicle I'd feel safe in when driving in wintry weather & the Highlander is just that. The Highlander gets good gas mileage & responds immediately when a quick pickup is needed - it will kick in & go without a pause. I highly recommend the Toyota Highlander.

Overall Happy

Overall the Toyota Highlander Hybrid is a very well made car. But it does have a few features that I dislike. I have a couple other Toyotas(Sienna and Prius). So I'm able to compare with what Toyota has done in the past. Dislikes: 1. In this car the flooring is now black. Most dirt and weeds are brown and show up MUCH more than the former beige flooring. So that's one change for the worse. Don't know what they were thinking. 2. The controls for the air are over engineered. The thermostat is no longer a nice lever bar that you quickly move to the temperature that you want. Now it's two dials(I'd rather one dial) and if you don't have the fan running the car won't let you change the temperature setting. Even if you just want air coming in from outside. 3. For some reason, the steering wheel blocks much of my view of the dashboard. So I have to dip my head to see what speed I'm traveling at. Not an issue with my Sienna and Prius. Likes: 1. Like the GPS system. Very convenient. Sometimes it's difficult getting it to accept the address you type in. It will jump to conclusions about what you're typing in but then if you try to go back it makes you start all over again. I do wish they'd fix that bug. Same problem in the Prius. 2. Love the keyless entry. So convenient. 3. Love the sound system. 4. Love the smooth quiet ride. Handles well. 5. Love that the car is a hybrid and has good gas mileage. 6. Like the fancy leather seats and faux wood accents. 7. Like the multiple seat adjustment settings for the front seats. Very comfortable. 8. Like the rearview camera. Nice to look in it to make sure there isn't anything in the way when I back up. Overall the Toyota Hybrid Highlander is a well made car and very comfortable to drive.

2012 Highlander

Been looking for a car for over a year, to be used for road trips. We went to the Auto Show to compare them all and narrowed the list down. The ride and comfort in this car, is exactly what we were looking for. I'm planning on retiring in four years and taking trips around the country. I truly believe this is the best car, I've ever own with all the newer features. Plenty of space, with very comfortable seats, individual climate control, to name a few. The ride is very smooth in comparison to another SUV we own. We are very happy with our choice and looking forward to the trips.
