It rides really nice, seats 6 adults comfortably, has a nice amount of storage space, and has great upgrades. The purchase price was a little higher than I would have liked, but is still within a manageable range. My parents are still driving their 2003 Highlander, so I'm hopeful this one will have an equally as long lifetime.

And after all these years I still love to drive it. The new Highlander is so much more sophisticated, many more "Gizmo's", that's why my wife drives the car most of the time.

Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.737 reviews) The Highlander is very roomy inside, saves on gas/$$, and is more environmentally friendly than straight gas engines. The interior is comfortable and practical at the same time -- lots of compartments, multiple 12v outlets, intuitive dash. Quiet ride. To me it seems like a luxury car without the price tag.

Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (0 reviews) The car is great for a family of 5. Enough seats for each of our 3 children to have enough room on road trips. Fuel economy is good for its class but As an everyday driver we find ourselves at the gas pumps very often. The only other downside is adults don't fit in the third row but adults rarely sit back there so no big deal. Other than that it's a great car. Very comfy on long road trips and trustworthy in all weather conditions.

Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (0 reviews) This car is large enough to haul my painting supplies, including ladders & scaffolding, yet comfortable enough for long road trips. The third row seat, though seldom used, is a bonus. The heated front leather seats were a must for the metal in my body during cold winter weather. The height of the car is perfect for ease of entry & exit. The super low miles means this car drives like new. Everything works great! All my needs plus my desires came together perfectly in this vehicle.

great features

This is a great vehicle that suits our needs well. The 4 cylinder coupled with the 6 speed transmission has been peppy, fairly frugal, roomy, yet capable of towing. We're getting an average of 22-24 which is good, but we have yet to see 27 mpg EPA hwy rating. This one has the tow prep package (rated to 3,500#) - we haven't pulled that, but with a load of 6 passengers + trailer (about 1,000#) it handled a long steep grade into the NC mountains acceptably. Note that the 2nd seat in the middle row is not for a full sized person and when you have the 3rd seat up, there is very little storage - but, 6 adults can be comfortable - 4 with ample storage. It's not a minivan (we have one) but can step up to people hauler duty. Sturdy roof rack.

Exceeded my expectations

I wanted an suv that offered great space for my 3 children(2teens/1 toddler). We also do alot of traveling and the optional 3rd row was a plus.(I had a minivan, but didn't always need the 3rd row). Although the 3rd row leg room is smaller it is great to have when my kids want someone to tag along and is accessible (2nd row seats fold down and slide forward). The V-6 engine is great when your hauling a truck load of kids. My only complaint is the radio and at times there tends to be lots of static. I originally looked at a 2008 Ford Escape but it didn't seem to be a solid vehicle. After searching for a suv with all the options I wanted I chose the Highlander. For being a V6 suv I can fill it up with $30, which is lesser than filling up my minivan. Would buy another one!!

Great family SUV

This is a great car for a Colorado family who need good driving in snow and off road occasionally but mostly to soccer games, etc. We bought the 2013 because visibility was reduced so much with the 2014 redesign, as well as car got wider and wouldn't fit in our garage. Bluetooth, backup camera, third row split seat are all great features, and we love the brand reliability. The new smart key is fun but a REAL pain if you lose one - costs $300 to replace ( and no off brand or substitutes will work, believe me we tried!)
