2009 Toyota MatrixTriprock - McDonough, Georgia12/25/2012
Had decided on this car or a Nissan Versa and bought this. It had approx 23,000 miles and was attractive. CarMax 30 day guarantee gave me opportunity to take to my mechanic for a check over. He gave it the OK. Gas mileage so far right around 30mpg. Not bad, but could be a couple miles better. Prior to this auto I had driven a 1996 Toyota Camry for 17 yrs and 289,000 miles. I have put 3,000 miles on this Matrix and am pleased so far.

Great car for the price. Great pick up, fast, cute sporty car. Gets great gas mileage. I'd think about next time, a quieter car.... it's a rough, loud car, on highways.

2009 Toyota MatrixA Good Husband - Orlando, FL08/23/2011
I bought the Matrix last week to be the primary car for my wife and three year-old daughter. We've already had a good chance to break it in on a seven hour road trip for a family reunion, as well as testing out the typical daily commute. We consistently achieved 30mpg on the highway with the A/C blowing and cruise control set on 74mph. The car handles well in traffic and on open road. The ride is fairly smooth, although uneven sections of road seem to be particularly annoying in this car. Bumps are noticeable, but not so much that they're unpleasant.
Cargo space and even legroom seem to be sufficient for all of our needs. Storage space in the console is limited, but a huge glove compartment compensates for that. Cup holders are limited (2 in the back and only "bottle holders" in the front) but who buys a car for cup holders? I have to admit that the driver's seat did get a bit uncomfortable after hours on the road, but for normal daily operation it should be fine.
I feel secure with my family in this car day in and day out. The Toyota quality and the safety specifications are reassuring. It's also pretty sporty looking in a "sundance orange" color. My wife is thrilled with the car and hopefully will be expressing her gratitude for a long time to come.
