Absolutely love this car. My Toyota Matrix is a FUN car to drive. I bought it for more room for the grandkids but I was trully surprised how much I like it for myself. The seats are very comfortable and it has alot of power for a 4 cylinder. I don't feel as if I am driving an "old lady" car. My Matrix is silver in color and very sporty. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a smaller but roomy car. It gets ok gas mileage, not as good as my previous Focus but it is much more functional and fun to drive.
I have owned my matrix for about 5 years now. I bought it brand new. It gets about 32-35 MPG. I have the 5-speed manual transmission and it's fun to drive. For hauling stuff it's great because I've put 25 bags of 2 cubic foot bags of mulch in the back without problems. Once you fold down the back seats the car is like driving a small truck. It can take all the beatings and weight and keeps running. Great size for small families. I am also 5'10" and it has a lot of room for the driver and passengers. It does have more leg room than a Tahoe
I went into the dealership ready to buy a Camry when I saw the Toyota Matrix in the showroom. I was looking for a car around $16,000 and provided good gas mileage. What made me buy the Matrix was its good gas mileage and practicality. I often have to deliver luggages from the airport and with the back seats down, this hatchback can easily fit in about 8 bags. I was surprised to find I could put skiis in the back, the room is that big. The car handles well and its acceleration is good for a 4 cylinder. I am appreciating the good gas mileage and it it is stylish. For someone 6', the car is very easy to get in and out of. I would have liked to have more leg room. I find I can't quite stretch my legs out like in other full size cars. I've had this car for 2 months now and so far it appears to have been an excellent purchase for the money.
