This one rides just as comfortable, handles well, and is far more versatile. It has several technical bells and whistles and allows me to HAUL stuff! I even added a roof rack to make toting stuff around even more versatile! I can't say enough good things about 40MPG either! Great car!

Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.474 reviews) Likes: - fuel economy we get 41.5 mpg combined. -very peppy especially in power mode. -quiet drive -lots of space of an SUV. -great handling Dislikes: - radio controls a little confusing. - key fob doesn't always recognize and car won't say READY so we need to restart the sequence. - It's comfortable but a little tight. If we have a third person in the back seat they are a little squeezed.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.4 reviews) I wanted a Prius because of its outstanding repair record and amazing gas mileage. I was originally looking for a standard Prius. However, after comparing the Prius and the Prius V side by side, I opted for the larger cargo area. I was concerned that with the Prius V, I would have to give up 4 mpg as it is rated at only, (only!) 44 mpg. However, having the Prius V for three months, my average gas mileage is 48.4! Amazing.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.5 reviews) I previously had a Camry hybrid, and loved it except for the fact that the trunk was a joke. Since I tend to end up carrying a lot of stuff, I had decided that I would get a Prius V when it came time to replace the Camry. I've done so and it works great. The back seats are very flexible for either full sized people, or three dogs, or to carry stuff around. The mileage is very consistently in the low 40s. The cabin is comfortable, but significantly louder than the Camry was. The integration with the iPhone is great and I can listen to my stuff either wired or wirelessly. The pick-up is not zippy. You can floor it and it will get you merged, but it sounds like you are killing it. I generally drive gently, so not a big problem for me.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Gray Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.25 reviews) The primary reason to buy a Prius is the fuel economy, but there are many other things to like about the v. The passenger cabin is roomy and comfortable, and the cargo space is massive for a car this size. Some people complain about road noise, but I just turn the stereo up. My only complaint is the heating system seems a little weak. The air conditioning was fine last summer, but the heater seems to take a long time to warm the entire cabin.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Red Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.25 reviews) I used to be a car nut when I finally realized, why drive a BMW or Infiniti to have something sporty when I'm communing to work and want to get from point A to B. As a result, I decided value and versatility were my driving focus with this car. It's about the size of a small SUV but 40 mpg in the winter and nearly 50 mpg in the summer. It a pleasure to fill the tank because it's never cost more than $35 to fill up. It is more fun to drive then given credit (like my 80's Golf/Rabbit), and has plenty of room for 4 adult men. If you don't mind the engine/CVT droan when accelerating hard, it's actually very quiet in normal conditions. 200k is my expected ownership life and think it can be achieved.

Fuel efficient

If a friend was looking for fuel efficiency and space then this isn't a bad choice. If they are looking for those plus speed and towing capabilities, not the car for them.

Perfect road trip car

If you're buying a Prius, you know you're sacrificing engine size and power for gas mileage. That said, the Prius V, with the tech package, is a great road trip car. The adaptive cruise control means that you can set the cruise control for 75 mph and not have to disengage/re-engage cruise control if vehicles ahead of you change speed. If you're going cross-country, the car can warn you of bad weather in the area. It handles really well on slick roads because of front-wheel drive. The one downside is that the built-in GPS is of fairly poor quality, but for longer trips, I use a stand-alone Garmin.
