Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.55 reviews) If you're buying a Prius, you know you're sacrificing engine size and power for gas mileage. That said, the Prius V, with the tech package, is a great road trip car. The adaptive cruise control means that you can set the cruise control for 75 mph and not have to disengage/re-engage cruise control if vehicles ahead of you change speed. If you're going cross-country, the car can warn you of bad weather in the area. It handles really well on slick roads because of front-wheel drive. The one downside is that the built-in GPS is of fairly poor quality, but for longer trips, I use a stand-alone Garmin.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.55 reviews) I wanted a Prius because of its outstanding repair record and amazing gas mileage. I was originally looking for a standard Prius. However, after comparing the Prius and the Prius V side by side, I opted for the larger cargo area. I was concerned that with the Prius V, I would have to give up 4 mpg as it is rated at only, (only!) 44 mpg. However, having the Prius V for three months, my average gas mileage is 48.4! Amazing.

Reviews for 2012 Toyota Prius v

Overall Rating

4.6 out of 5 (20 reviews)

I really really ove this car!

This Hybrid Toyota (Prius V) is a software controlled that is so perfected that it actually thrills me to use it and maintain it. Built with such quality practices that it stuns me sometimes. Its mileage (around 41 miles per gallon, on average) is very decent.

Pros

  • Braking: A light touch of the brakes slows by charging the traction battery, extending brake life.
  • Ride and Handling: Sure footed traction and precise steering make it a nice and stable ride.
  • Interior Space: The Prius V (no longer made) offers more rear seat room and more cargo space.

Cons

  • Dashboard: The backup camera screen is frosted, which makes viewing bad when sun hits it.

I Love this Car

I wanted a Prius because of its outstanding repair record and amazing gas mileage. Amazing.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: 48.4 mpg
  • Reliability: One of Consumer Reports best
  • Interior Space: Very comfortable and roomy

Cons

  • Power: Lower power but the economy offsets this
  • Dashboard: Dashboard in the center
