I used to be a car nut when I finally realized, why drive a BMW or Infiniti to have something sporty when I'm communing to work and want to get from point A to B. As a result, I decided value and versatility were my driving focus with this car. It's about the size of a small SUV but 40 mpg in the winter and nearly 50 mpg in the summer. It a pleasure to fill the tank because it's never cost more than $35 to fill up.
It is more fun to drive then given credit (like my 80's Golf/Rabbit), and has plenty of room for 4 adult men. If you don't mind the engine/CVT droan when accelerating hard, it's actually very quiet in normal conditions. 200k is my expected ownership life and think it can be achieved.
Prius V - the super car!
2013 Toyota Prius vD M - Sac, CA12/19/2016
- fuel economy we get 41.5 mpg combined.
-very peppy especially in power mode.
-lots of space of an SUV.
- radio controls a little confusing.
- key fob doesn't always recognize and car won't say READY so we need to restart the sequence.
- It's comfortable but a little tight. If we have a third person in the back seat they are a little squeezed.
Great hauling & mileage with good comfort & power
2013 Toyota Prius vJohn Hall - Charlotte, NC08/01/2015
I previously had a Camry hybrid, and loved it except for the fact that the trunk was a joke. Since I tend to end up carrying a lot of stuff, I had decided that I would get a Prius V when it came time to replace the Camry. I've done so and it works great. The back seats are very flexible for either full sized people, or three dogs, or to carry stuff around. The mileage is very consistently in the low 40s. The cabin is comfortable, but significantly louder than the Camry was. The integration with the iPhone is great and I can listen to my stuff either wired or wirelessly. The pick-up is not zippy. You can floor it and it will get you merged, but it sounds like you are killing it. I generally drive gently, so not a big problem for me.
