Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.757 reviews) First off, gas mileage is awesome. Currently pay about $15-18 to fill the tank, depending on gas prices, and I can drive for 500 miles on one tank. Very smooth ride and not much road noise. I love the backup camera, though be aware that the 2010 backup camera doesn't have guideline markers on it like many do nowadays. Plenty of space in the hatchback area, you can really load it up which was a plus for me. My husband who is 6'1" complains that it's low to the ground and not as comfortable for him, but he drives an SUV so it's really not comparable. Overall a great little car, I had been a loyal Honda owner for almost 10 years, but now I'm happy to be part of the Toyota club!

Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.757 reviews) BEST car I ever owned. Not the fastest, not the roomiest, not made like a German BMW BUT it gets 45 to 55 MPG and I am spending a ton less on gas. It has enough room in the back, jumps into traffic, climbs mountains and does everything I ask of it for pennies on the gallon. I absolutely love not having to think about "how much gas" I will be using to go hear or there. Has good features, is lightweight but relatively solid. I am going to buy another one to have two...that is a big vote of confidence.

Also being in Florida, the air conditioning is running all the time during the summer. I'm anxious to see the mileage during the winter. The pick-up is fine and no sluggish feeling is felt when accelerating away.

The 2010 Toyota Prius

I purchased this car as a replacement for another that was totaled in a fire. I was interested in a Hybrid both for fuel efficiency (cost) and as a step towards reducing greenhouse emissions and dependency on fossil fuels. I bought just prior (a week or so) to all the news about runaway acceleration, braking problems, and so on that are now plaguing Toyota (and apparently other manufacturers, as well). To date, I have had no problems whatsoever with the car, and I don't really anticipate any. Mileage has been great, it is lovely to fill the tank only 1-2 times per month (unlike previously when it was 2-3 times per week at 31 mpg) despite commuting a long distance and lots of driving in general (a mix of highway and local). The interior of the car is well laid out and nicely appointed. My only negative comments is that I am a fairly large person - well, to be fair, I am really overweight/obese - and I find that the new console where the shift lever sits in the Prius is a little close for comfort, but other than that, i am perfectly happy with the car. I doubt that most people would feel the same way I do about the console. I do find the location of the shift lever to still not be intuitive - I first reach elsewhere, then remember to look for it, still. I found the split rear window a bit disconcerting at first, but have gotten used to it. I did not get the backup camera; that might have been worthwhile to avoid the issue with the split rear window, but it is not necessary, and now I don't think I would use it if it were installed. I think that the external appearance of the car is perfectly acceptable. Overall, I like the car, I like driving it, and it runs well. I would recommend it.

The Right Choice So Far

So Far the Prius has exceeded my expectations. I love the way the gauges makes you aware of your driving habits and you become addicted to achieving the highest MPG. The Car is solid and drives smooth. I wish Toyota would have insulated the doors and cabin for a more quieter ride. I believe All Prius's should have mandatory backup cameras. The Prius has the Worst backup blind spot of any vehicle I have ever driven. I used to have a Lead foot before I bought the Prius and now I am a firm believer in driving slow and achieving no less than 600 mile on a tank full (10 gallon tank). The Prius does has plenty of power to pass and getting on the freeway is not problem at all. Overall, this car gets an A+. If I could give the Prius a higher grade it would be AAA+++. Thank you CarMax
