A Guy With A Prius

The features, reliability and gas mileage make this car worth it. It may not be the most stylish thing in the world, but the fact that I can drive over 400 miles on a ten gallon tank with nothing but city driving makes it worth the money.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: I put the same demands on it that I would a regular car and still average 45 mpg.
  • Technology and Entertainment: The features are more updated than I could find for an Accord and Camry: Bluetooth calls and music streaming, push button start, doors lock/unlock by just touching the handle...great value
  • Safety: It has very high saftey ratings and airbags all over the place.

Cons

  • Power: You get fairly decent acceleration if you put it in Power mode, but gas mileage will suffer. The default ECO mode won't win any races.
  • Styling: It's a Prius. As a guy in my early 30s, I do get laughed at a little when I tell people I have a Prius.
  • Cabin Noise: It's not the quietest ride. You definitely know you're driving.

Prius is great.

Awesome mileage; bigger inside than I expected. The usual excellent Toyota fit and finish details. One tip for people turning in cars for resale -- delete the "MyDestination" addresses in the navigation system.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: Really high
  • Cargo Space: Roomier than I expected. Cover helps keep truck contents secure
  • Ride and Handling: I was used to a bigger car/bigger engine so it took a little while to adjust. Peppy accelerating onto highways

Cons

  • Technology and Entertainment: Healights are not automatic on/off; navigation system is clunky and often confused
