We live near Atlanta and my husband uses the car for traveling to and from work every day. On each tank he gets about 450 miles and an average of 48 miles per gallon. Be warned that even though the Prius SAYS it is an 11 gallon gas tank, it really only holds 10 gallons so be sure to do any mileage estimates based on that. The car has been great so far and I hope for it to be great for years and years to come!
Definitely get this car
2008 Toyota PriusG Burns - Edmond, OK09/30/2012
I originally purchased a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid, and I really wish I had picked the Prius to begin with, but live and learn. The Honda had the worst transmission known to man and was a death trap when trying to accelerate onto a highway, as the 0-60 was realistically around 20-25 seconds. Also, the EPA estimate was 40-44mpg, and I never saw better than 33! There is actually a class action lawsuit over this topic in California.
This lead me to take the car back and get a Prius. The only negative that I have about the Prius is the seat rides a little bit high, but that is it! The best MPG I've recorded so far is 56.23MPG! Quite a big jump from the Honda! The lowest I have seen is 40...which still blows my mind! The power that the Prius has is really amazing! It's really fun to drive and feels like you are driving a spaceship. I regularly drive 350+ miles a week commuting to work and back, and I usually fill up about every 8-10 days depending on how hard I drive.
The battery is covered through Toyota for 8 years and 105,000 miles, and transfers to new owners, so no need to worry about that failing. I have heard of people really wanting their batteries to die so that they can get the new Plug In battery installed, but they are having no problems and are at 250,000 miles and above.
I would definitely recommend this car to a friend, as the car is awesome. I definitely see myself using this car until the wheels fall off, and then buying another Prius.
I love my Prius!

I always thought the Prius was ugly, but after test driving it and seeing the interior and all of the cool feature, I've changed my mind. The gas mileage is amazing and the car handles so well. I highly recommend the Prius!
