It's Economical, especially in California.

it's economical and you don't have to have it smogged every other year here in California! I have rheumatoid arthritis, and my hands are misshapen and painful, and it's the easiest car for me to drive! I don't have to turn a key in the ignition; with the smart key, I just push a button on the dashboard to start it, and I open the locked driver's door by putting my hand into the handle. It is complex and expensive to maintain.

Prius, Just the best car I've ever owned

Dependability. Periodic ordinary maintenance, that's it. Brakes lasted well over 100,000 on my '02, so did the plugs. Quiet, smooth, and I am getting 55 mpg with my '11 Prius. Exceptional rear seat legroom and overall comfort. My '02 will still be on the road, except it was clobbered and totalled. I had 164k on it, and no question it would have made 250k. ore more. Only needed a waterpump after 150k. Amazing performance by A/C even after 15 years on the road, didn't burn a drop of oil, engine was very peppy for a 1.4 liter, and 50+ MPG was easy to attain. Drove cross country 4 times with no issues whatsoever, and it cruised smoothly at 70-80 MPH. At those speeds, mpg was 40-45, which I still considered outstanding. We have a '13 also.

Love The Prius

The Toyota Prius is a great car that lives up to the hype. The car has good performance when needed (rarely). When driving in ECO mode it gets incredible gas mileage. Currently getting 55+ MPG under normal driving conditions. As a result I can travel over 660 miles on a tank of gas. My only complaint so far is the 'Miles Until Empty' feature which is incredibly inaccurate. The low gas indicator annoyingly flashes and makes noises when I still have enough gas for 120-150 miles. The handling is decent, but not spectacular. The turn radius is a bit larger than expected and getting into tight parking spaces can be a challenge. It is family friendly with a very roomy interior and it's easy to get in car seats and boosters. The hatchback has plenty of room for cargo unlike some other hybrids which lose trunk space to the battery, etc. The current design is much more aesthetically pleasing than previous models. Vision through the back windshield is partially obscured. Climate control system works very well and the A/C has little effect on the car's efficiency. The upgraded stereo package is worth every penny. Strongly recommend this car!
