Thoughts on the Sequoia
I had concerns about the size of Sequoia since the change in appearance but I have been pleasantly surprised. Initially it feels big but it quickly becomes part of you. The turning radius on this vehicle is over the top excellent and it makes maneuverability an ease. As for the features, I have discovered that even those that I didn't think would be necessary have made my life easier from the accessible placement of audio controls on the steering to the blue tooth feature which allows you to make calls without fighting with your phone, to the sonar that beeps when an object is too close to the backup camera that allows for perfect parking and much more. The passenger space is superb and it will sit eight adults comfortably. The cargo space however needs much improvement and could be greatly improved by adding 12-18 inches to the length of the chassis. Also The transmission or gear change could be much smoother but can be excused cause we know it is a truck, however fully load with passenger and luggage, this baby purrs on the highway and delivers a smooth ride. Finishing on the interior is moderately ok. In all this is a vehicle that is both a workhorse and a comfort vehicle. There is ample cup & bottle holding and storage spaces in the vehicle. By adding an entertainment system to this vehicle, it becomes a superb family friendly vehicle. The game outlet allows for play or the use of your laptop turning it into a mobile office as well. What can I say, so far I am having a blast with my truck.
I am the second owner and very happy!!
2010 Sequoia Limited 2wd
I never considered the Sequoia before when I was shopping around due to its huge size but since I was looking to replace my Tacoma for more interior room I had to go full size. Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade: Not enough room behind the 3rd row. If you want more space with a flat floor, you have to physically remove the 3rd row seats out of the car. Difficult for the wife to do and not enough storage space in the home. Everyone has them as well. Reliability is also an issue. Suburban: Same as above, but too long to fit in the garage. 4Runner: Not enough space. 3rd row only seats 2. Highlander: Not enough space. Just like T/Y/E everyone has them. Sequoia: Ample space behind 3rd row, exceptional when folded down. Parking sensors and back up camera for a vehicle that size, JBL sound so I dont have to go aftermarket, strong engine that picks up well for a 5,700+lbs vehicle, just fits in the garage, lots of storage space, 2nd row seats still slide forward when a baby car seat is placed in the middle, reliable. It was a no brainer. SEQUOIA IT IS. Family loves it. Good compliments on the looks and how much room inside especially for adults in the 3rd row. Bought a Corsa exhaust for it and it sounds great.
