We bought our sequoia a little over 4 months ago,and love it so much!!! We were looking for a bigger vehicle, since we now have started a family, and wanted one that would last us through several children without becoming too cramped. We had originally wanted a 4-runner, but realized that the roomy 3rd row in the sequoia would help us be able to keep our vehicle much longer as our family continues to grow. There is plenty of cargo room even with the 3rd row in place (which is not true of the 4-runner...if a 3rd row is in a 4-runner, there is basically no cargo space remaining.) Furthermore, I can easily fold down the 3rd row and use it as a stroller platform, while stowing groceries in the regular cargo area. For long trips, it is super easy to fold up the 3rd row and literally have a cavern of storage space. The ride is super-smooth, the seats very comfortable, plenty of leg, shoulder, and head room even for my big and tall husband. Moving from a camry, I worried about being able to handle such a big vehicle, but was able to become accustomed to it very quickly. It really doesn't feel much bigger to me than a 4-runner when I'm driving it. We did install safety mirrors on our side-view mirrors, which tremendously helps the somewhat lacking visibility. The sound system and CD changer are very nice, and we love all the extra amenities provided in this vehicle. Overall, we feel so blessed to have such a lovely vehicle for such a reasonable price.
I had been looking for one for about a year and found everything that I needed in this vehicle and was very please with it's appearance and upkeep.
I wanted a great vehicle for hauling dogs (we have 4 of them) and gear (musician). I can fit large speaker cabs in this standing up... and can fit nearly 3x's more gear than my last SUV. We took out the 3rd row seats (really easy to do) and put up a dog barrier, and have plenty of room for 4 large dogs, and 5 passengers. The second row seats are comfortable enough for longer trips, however the 3rd row seats aren't meant for adults to be in for a length of time. 2nd row is very comfortable and roomy. Has it's own air system for heat or AC. Some of the features I do miss from my last SUV include auto wipers, dual zone front seat heating, and bluetooth/navigation package. The last is fixable. Needs a rear view camera, but that's also something that can be fixed. Driving is very comfortable. The bucket seats hold you in to take corners faster than you really should. Bumps are less noticable, and bad road is covered rather smoothly. It has plenty of get up and go, despite the size and weight of the vehicle. Handles well in the snow I've seen since purchasing (not bad snow yet). Gas mileage is terrible, but I bought this for hauling, not for commuting. All in all, very worth the money, and it's Toyota quality - I'll have this for years to come.
