4 cylinder engine has lots of power and good gas mileage. drives great and very quiet ride. A huge trunk holds a full size ice chest and all my baggage on long trips.
I love my new (pre-owned) Toyota Solara convertable! I had always driven convertables of various makes and models. Four years ago, my Ford Mustang convertable was stolen from a dealer ship while in for repairs. My heart was broken, and I could not bare to buy another...for the fear of a repeat situation. Recently, I decided I had waited long enough...time to take the chance again. I researched and decided that the Toyota Solara was the car I wanted. I have NOT been disappointed. The Solara is fabulous! It's very roomy for a convertable, comfortable, and all the accessories are quite convenient to operate. The ride is super smooth and the acceleration is quiet adequate. I have been pleased with the stereo system, although, the satelite radio receiver does not come standard, so that must be purchased and installed, which is quiet expensive. To top it off, the Solara is a very attractive car...it looks good and I look good in it! :)
This car is a fairly good buy. Having been a former Solara owner (had a 2000) I can tell you some things have been changed. The interior is a bit smaller and a tighter fit then the earlier makes, this decreases your visibility for side and rear. The one change that I do not care for at all would be that when you look out your rear window there is no way to see where the end of your car is. You have to rely soley on the side mirrors when backing up. Something you want to be well aware of! The gas mileage for the 2006 is actually less then for the 2000 I just got rid of. The car seems to have a little less power as well.
