Customer Review Summary for Toyota Solara
Solara - Inexpensive Comfort
2006 Toyota SolaraThomas - San Diego, CA09/18/2009
The Solara has been a great car to me. I read a review once that said it was Lexus style comfort with Toyota cost... and that really rang true for me when I test drove it. The seats are very comfortable. I highly recommend getting the SLE with the v6 as it comes with leather seats and the more powerful engine.
The only gripe I have with this car is that it's not as powerful as I'd like it to be. Living in southern california, there's quite a few hills and mountains and some of them I have to push the peddle all the way down to get over them. But then again, I'm used to driving sports cars and this isn't one.
Overall, it's a great car and well worth the buy.

Great car, good pickup at higher speeds. Only problem...found out yesterday there is a recall on the engine for oil consumption. Good news its covered under warranty...bad news it could take a year to get the parts at the dealer to fix it. So I guess I am buying another car.

This vehicle just appeared on the lot the day we had to make a decision. I had driven a Solara before, and loved the back support, but didn't want a convertible. It had the sun roof, leather seats, trim package: more than what I expected to get for the price. The ride is amazing...very smooth, especially on the open road. I'm pretty pleased with the gas mileage as well, and I find myself smiling every time I look at the car. A deal!
Nothing compares to the feeling of the wind whipping your hair back as you cruise in a well-built convertible. Well, almost nothing—the feeling of getting a great deal on your vehicle purchase is definitely a close second. You can enjoy both of these awesome sensations at the same time by selecting a high-quality convertible that sells for less than $20,000.
