Great 4x4 system, nice clean simple interior, well thought out vehicle. If you do your own oil changes you'll be impressed with the oil drain hole that surrounds the filter. The oil filter is almost vertical, accessed from the top of the motor, there is a lip around where the filter seats, so that when you remove the filter the drips/flows into an outlet that you can place a catch can under. Beats an under the motor, oil going every where, when you unscrew the filter anytime.
Great truck. You can't go wrong with a Tacoma. Clean, excellent condition and towing performance above expectations. Tows much better than my 2002 did with the 3.4 liter.
I love my truck. It is comfortable, good handeling and fast. I love the running boards and have many comments about the tire rims.
The 2008 Toyota Tacoma is a midsize pickup truck that not only is built for towing and hauling, but is easily maneuverable on city roads. Despite its tough personality and sturdiness, it provides a comfortable ride.
The 2008 Toyota Tacoma enters its model year completely unchanged from the 2007 model.
The 2008 Toyota Tacoma cruises well down highways and has a comfortable cabin, which is a pleasant surprise when compared to other pickup trucks. One of its greatest strengths is its versatility and control. It has responsive handling and steering, no matter the landscape. Its off-road capability and towing capacity provide plenty of utility too. It's pretty light and fast for a pickup.
The 2008 Toyota Tacoma faces stiff competition. Though it's not quite a style leader, the Tacoma does hold functionality over many of its competitors. It comes with many trim levels and feature packages to ensure that drivers will be able to find the exact Tacoma they are looking for. Additionally, it has larger seats with plenty of power adjustment options.
The Toyota Tacoma offers many choices. You can go for the base body style or upgrade to the Double Cab Long Bed, select front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, or opt for a four-cylinder engine or a V6. The many different combinations ensure that used car buyers can find a model to suit their needs and preferences.
At its entry-level, you get a Tacoma 2WD Regular Cab. It has the following features:
Extended Cab and Crew Cab add more standard features than the base model, such as:
Additional Tacoma packages include the PreRunner and X-Runner. PreRunner vehicles are front-wheel drive with the same higher stance that all-wheel-drive vehicles tend to have. X-Runner vehicles have the best on-road experience for the class and are only offered with the Extended Cab style.
The base engine is a 2.7L four-cylinder engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic is also optional if you don't like driving manual. The Tacoma also has a 4.0L V6 engine as an option for specific trim levels - it's standard on Crew Cab body styles and on all-wheel-drive Extended Cab body styles. The V6 engine is typically paired with a six-speed manual, but a five-speed automatic can be swapped in as well.
The Toyota Tacoma has a few different body styles: Regular Cab, Extended Cab, and Crew Cab. Depending on your preferences, you may want to upgrade to Double Cab for more room and comfort - this body style is longer and offers more back-seat comfort. When you compare the Double Cab body style with the other pickups, you'll notice that it's roomy enough to outright beat the other midsize pickup trucks and even compete with some sedans.
Though not many things have changed since the 2006 Tacoma, the 2008 Tacoma has paid special attention to interior comfort.
