No doubts

2007 Toyota Tundra Bama Jack - S.E. USA 11/03/2009

As a former owner of the 04 Titan and daily driver of the 09 Ford F-150 at work I can honestly say this one tops them all.Has the kahonese of the Titan but the refinement and civility of a Lexus. This thing will put a smile on your face a mile wide, especially at the light as other truck drivers can't look you in the eye.Turn on the ignition and your testosterone level rises.FEEL THE POWER !!!Sorry ,but it is what it is !Enjoy .

Outstanding Truck

2007 Toyota Tundra Preacher - Huntersville, NC 12/20/2011

Die-hard Chevy and Ford fan all of my life. Multiple pickups in my 46 years of life and believed nothing compared to an American made pick-up. Man was I wrong! Toyota blows the doors off anything Chevy, Ford, Dodge (to miss or avoid) and Nissan have to offer. Test drive it, you'll be convinced. Ford has a nicer interior, Dodge has a nicer nose, Chevy has the ride comfort but not by much. The 5.7 in the Toyota in amazing. Matched to a 6 speed auto trans and huge 4.10 gears or 4.30, with factory tow package, nothing out pulls it, nothing out hauls it, out brakes it and nothing out handles it. It does all things well, really. I've been an auto tech over 26 years, I am fully convinced this truck wins hands down. Again, the others are no slouches either but, for all-around value and dependability, you can't beat Toyota on their Tundra. For whatever it's worth... Thanks for reading.

Toyota Tundra is the definition of Truck!

2007 Toyota Tundra Glenn - Charlottesville, VA 04/26/2012

I love this truck! The iForce V8 motor delivers amazing power and for the horsepower does it with gas efficiency greater than many other big vehicles. I get about 17 miles to the gallon highway and 15 around town. Comfort wise the seats aren't the greatest, but they aren't the worst either... one thing that I don't like is the wear that happens to the side of the seat as a result of how you have to slide down to get out of the truck. The MaxCab offers an exceptional amount of space in the back seat -our son has plenty of room on long trips to spread out and relax. The overall ride of the truck is great! It handles well and isn't a bounce you around hard ride like many. This truck is beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality truck as their next vehicle.

2007 Toyota Tundra Overview

If you are researching used full-sized trucks for sale, the 2007 Toyota Tundra is a good place to start. Although the Tundra was initially designed as a smaller truck when introduced in 1999, the 2007 edition was the first generation of full-size models. This is a truck that has a 10,000 lb towing capacity along with the ability to carry a payload of up to 2,000 lbs. The 2007 Tundra offers a wide variety of choices in over 30 configurations including three different bed lengths, wheelbases and cab configurations along with two transmission options a choice of three engines. There were 195,000 of the Toyota Tundra sold for the 2007 model year, making it the bestselling Tundra to that point and since.

2007 Toyota Tundra History

The Toyota Tundra was the first Japanese-manufactured pickup truck made in the United States. There have only been two generations of the Toyota Tundra, the model years 2000 to 2006 and from 2007 to the present. It was preceded by the Toyota T100.

The original, first generation of the Toyota Tundra, although larger than the T100, was still not considered by many as a full-size pickup. In concept, it was referred to as the T150 but Ford objected, claiming that the name was too close to its Ford F150 brand.

  • The first 2000 model year Tundras roll off an assembly line in Princeton, Indiana in 1999.
  • In 2000 Tundra was "Truck of the Year" award from Motor Trend Magazine.
  • The Tundra Double Cab was added in 2004.
  • The second generation, full-size Tundra was introduced with the 2007 model.
  • The TRD Rock Warrior off-road option became available for the 2009 model year.
  • A new Platinum Premium Trim package was made available in 2010.
  • For 2014, a top-tier luxury model of the Tundra was introduced as the 1794 Edition.

How It Drives

The 2007 Tundra is set for a firm ride, ready for a full load, straight from the factory and makes a terrific full-size work truck. This, however, gives it a somewhat stiff ride when not towing or carrying a load. For those who will be using the truck more for transportation than work and prefer a softer ride, there are affordable aftermarket suspension products available. This is a full-size truck with a fairly sharp turning radius. While the Tundra rides firmly like the truck it is, it is surprisingly quiet and solid.

Used 2007 Toyota Tundra Value

If you are researching a used 2007 Toyota Tundra, you may also likely be considering its competitors, like the Chevy Silverado or Ford F150. Because Toyota was aware of the competition, the company went all out in providing a number of configurations to fit almost any taste, need, and budget. The 5.7 liter V8 engine, which was introduced in 2007, has proven to be a beast, outperforming competitors in both speed and power. Its interior is also noticeably larger than other options in the class. It is little wonder why this larger version made such an impression when introduced in 2007.

Design & Performance

Prior to the 2007 models, the Tundra was a smallish truck. Toyota had to go about building an image of bigger, better, and more powerful. They did it through a wealth of design, performance, and comfort options including body styles.

  • Body designs ranged from Regular and Double cabs to the extra-large CrewMax version.
  • Consumers can choose from regular or extended wheelbases.
  • The 2007 Tundra has a seemingly unlimited choice of V6 and V8 engines.
  • A 10,000+ lb. towing capacity along with quick acceleration outperforms others in its class.

Powertrain & Engine

New for 2017, the Tundra paired its powerful 381 horsepower 5.7 liter, V8 engine with a new six-speed transmission. But this is far from the only powertrain and engine combination available. The 2007 Tundra also comes in a choice of a 4.0 liter V6 engine with 236 horsepower, and a 4.7 liter V8 engine with 276 horsepower. Used truck buyers will likely find five- and six-speed automatic options available along with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive choices.

Body Style & Interior Comfort

The 2007 Tundra broke out of the boxy truck mold to be one of the first full-size trucks designed with smoother, more aerodynamic lines. Well-appointed interiors are the roomiest in its class. With a choice of three cab sizes, you are sure to find one perfect for you. While today, some of the cutting-edge amenities of the time appear to be a bit outdated, the Tundra cabin has a solid, quiet, comfortable feel.
