I bought the car in September 2010 and I haven't had any trouble.
It has been easy to drive and easy to handle.
It's a very basic car that has a few bells and whistles. I've been happy with the gas mileage as well as all of the indicators on the dash.
Word to the wise, take some time to become familiar with the Owner's Manual. This is my first "new" car, so there were a lot of things I was unfamiliar with (read: automatic things).
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. It's a Toyota, keep up on the maintenance, park it in the garage, and it will last forever. I'm going to shoot for 250K miles.

Toyota's incredible quality continues. Regardless of the car, Toyota is known for producing dependable, affordable, long-lasting vehicles, and the Yaris is no exception. So far, I'm very pleased with this car. I also own a 2008 Yaris, and have had absolutely no problems with it. I have always preferred Toyotas and Hondas and will continue purchasing Toyotas for the great quality at an affordable price!
THE MOST FRIENDLY CAR I'VE EVER OWNED

I've always loved Toyota, and I owned a 1985 Celica, a 1986 Corolla, a 2002 Echo, a 2003 Corolla, and now a 2009 Yaris, which I bought new in April of 2009. I don't drive much (the car only has 5800 miles on it) and use the car for short trips around the neighborhood and occasional longer trips to the suburbs. It's peppy on the highway (I've had it up to 80 m.p.h.), good on the city streets, and it's a good ride.
I folded down the back seats which enables me to use the whole area for cargo, groceries, cartons of soda, etc, and I love the fact that I can just open the back and throw my stuff into that very ample storage area.
I would say without hesitation that this 2009 Yaris (silver/gray) is the most functional car for my particular needs. It's fun to drive, easy on gas, and it's really cute.
I intend on keeping this car for a long, long time.
