Used 2008 Toyota Yaris S for Sale
Reviews for 2008 Toyota Yaris
A Great Value
I had a lot of negative equity in my previous car. The Yaris allowed me to get a brand new vehicle in spite of that and so far I am very impressed. The gas mileage, needless to say, is impeccable. My insurance agent informed me that the Yaris got great safety ratings and the vehicle seems to be mechanically sound, as most Toyota's are. I love the MP3 jack and the interior is very stylish. My only significant complaints are the lack of power windows and power locks. I figured I could get these installed on my own, but found out that the doors are lacking "rods" to support the power locks and even if it could be done, it would be very, very expensive. I didn't even bother looking into the windows because I figured the issue would be the same. I should have researched this before I made the purchase, but even if I had, I think I would have gone with the Yaris anyway. It is a great overall value for your money.
Can't beat the gas mileage I'm getting with the manual hatchback -- about 36 mpg city, 41 highway. The interior is very roomy - even for my three 6-foot sons. The rear seats can move forward and back and the rear seat backs also recline. It's comfy and funny to watch people gape when our adult family of 5 piles out of this car (like a college prank or something). I can fit a lot of stuff into the back of this baby with all the rear storage options that come standard. The acceleration isn't all that great, but with gas prices the way they are, who's speeding around anymore anyway? I have power windows, locks, and the all-weather guard (live outside Chicago and need it). It has more than 9000 miles on it - I have had no problems at all. We had a very snowy and cold winter here...the only time this car slid was on an ice-packed road (and everyone was sliding). It has sharp handling - rain or snow. And I can park anywhere -- maybe even on a bike rack! haha. Get this car. With manual and power options. You can't go wrong.
Great for our budding family!
I have had my 08 Yaris for six months. I love it. It gave my family the chance to own something dependable, affordable, safe and great on gas. With a 3 year old safety is the issue, and with all my research I have found this a safe vehicle. The power windows and doors does not bother me, i can easily reach to the only other window to roll down, if it was a four door that would be different. Plus, eventually electric is bound to go out in the window. We plan to drive this car for MANY years to come!
