Transmission: Manual 6 Speed Color:Gray Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.385 reviews) Fantastic performance and fuel economy in a car with plenty of room for 4 people. That 1.8 TSI Engine is awesome. I just drove a rental model back from Reno and in 205 miles averaging 77mph it got 41.4MPG according to the computer. Driving the car for over 500 miles in a week I have used 35 bucks worth of gas. Thats 1/4 of a 14.5 gallon tank to drive over 200 miles. Thats just mind boggling. Do the math. Its rare to have a car that exceeds the predicted MPG, while driving at 80 + with your foot in it.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Tan Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.423 reviews) It drives like a sports car, low to the ground, holds corners like it's on rails, doesn't sway when the big trucks pass at 70+ mph. It gets an honest 32 mpg. The heating and cooling system is excellent. In dash GPS and steady cruise control make traveling a breeze. It has excellent pick up for getting up to speed on the interstates and a smooth transmission. Mine has a moon roof which is nice in the rain but not in the North Carolina summer sun.

Happiest compromise car. Ever.

The GTI is an excellent compromise car: do you have a 2 kids but still want a little performance? Do you need a good commuter, something with decent storage for grocery shopping? The GTI is right at the sweet spot for pragmatic and fun-to-drive... it checks all the boxes, and then some.
