Great, reliable euro car.

The 2.5L engine has a nice, snappy feel to it. Plenty of power. Rear seat has TONS of room for a sedan that's on the smaller side. Gas mileage is fantastic, regularly hit around 30 even when driving on my short commute to work on a regular basis. 33-35 on the open highway between 70-75MPH. Only detractor is the cabin is a bit noisy at higher speeds, even with quieter tires. Even with an automatic transmission, in sport mode this thing is a blast to drive. Lots of customization options available for you aftermarket fans. No major issues, I've put about 30k miles on it since purchasing it and haven't had to do a thing other than regular service visits.

Love it!!

Nice ride, responsive acceleration, and road handling. Plenty of bells and whistles. We haven't done an accurate mileage count per tank but we have driven it until the fuel light is on and we have reached 714 miles per tank. That being said all the miles have been split between highway and city driving...not to mention my heavy foot. Sorry it is just too much fun to drive. My wife now she babies it.

Emit's high levels of pollutants

VW has admitted to installing so-called defeat devices on Volkswagen and Audi cars with four-cylinder diesel engines dating to the 2009 model year. The devices actually software code switch on pollution controls when the cars are being tested, but turn off the controls when the software determines that the cars are back on real roads. Affected models include the Jetta, Golf, Beetle, Passat and Audi A3. VW has said a total of 11 million cars worldwide have the software worldwide.
