Great fuel economy, good ride, great value. For two people this is a great road trip car with good visability.
I enthusiastically purchased at 2006 Volkswagen Beetle. I was excited because the car I purchased looks good, sporty, and has nice "lines" in terms of its design. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for its aesthetic appeal has not been transferred to the car's performance. I initially thought I would get good gas mileage, but my mileage has been dismal at best. I only get about 215 miles off a full tank and this little rascal requires too many trips to the gas station. I do not even average 20 miles a gallon, which was a MAJOR surprise to me for this car. It is fun to drive, but the poor gas mileage keeps me out of the car more than I would prefer. There have also been too many "glitches" with the car. My front passenger-side lamp kept going off/on, but it was replaced and I've not had the problem. Shortly after that, the light on the console for the air conditioner/heat went out, not to mention the light for my rearview mirror. I don't know if it is simply a matter of the car being a 2006 model, but I've not even driven it much and these quirks are driving me crazy. I love driving my Beetle, but between the quirks and horrid gas mileage, I'm really, really bummed out. Definitely would not buy another Beetle, unfortunately.
I bought my Beetle in January. I love everything about it. The look, the ride, and all the extas (heated seats, monsound, Leather seats, moon roof). I have a manual five speed and love the power of the car. It truly is fun to drive. For anyone who wants a Beetle I say go for it. I am 60 plus years and enjoy driving my bug. It is roomy inside and I have no problem getting packages and things in the trunk. Very roomy too.
