Adorable & Fun!

The beetle I purchased is a convertible and tons of fun to drive. The ride is pretty smooth for such a small car. The design makes great use of the space so even two tall adults can ride in the front seat and not feel cramped. The five cylinder engine has lots of spunk and the sporty design receives plenty of attention. Haven't taken it on the interstate for a road trip of any length yet but mixed driving commuting to and from work is averaging just over 28 MPG.

Buggy for Beetles!

I've loved Beetles ever since I was a little girl! After my 2003 Beetle was totaled in a car accident, I knew immediately I had to get another one. I have no complaints about this car. It's the perfect size for me & it's really cute, too. I'm in love with my new Beetle!

2007 VW New Beetle Convertible

Very good little car for the money. The 5 cylinder engine has plenty of power to scoot around with. The seats are comfortable and all the controls are easy to work. The manual convertible top is easy to unlatch and fold back although if you don't get the rear latches engaged completely the warning chime gets annoying quick. Changing the various bulbs in the headlights and taillights is a pain in the butt! The taillights have to come completely out of the fenders to get to the bulbs and it's not easy to do. Same for the headlights and turn signals. Be prepared to pack light if you take a trip. The trunk is tiny on the convertible. I highly recommend the wind stop accessory if you are going to do any freeway speeds with the top down. You can hold a conversation at speed with the windows up and top down but the air blasting from the back of your head gets old. The car is very quiet with the top up, more than I would have thought. The convertible top does have a headliner that helps a lot. The top itself is EXPENSIVE to replace! The top costs anywhere from $800-1000 and that doesn't include labor so be prepared to shell out some bucks for replacement. One neat feature is the button that raises or lowers all the windows at once. The only warranty work we've had to do was having the driver door latch replaced. It has micro switches that sense lock position and latch position. The switch that senses the latch position went bad, so the car thought the door was shut all the time. So, the window would not drop when the door was open. This keeps the door from closing properly as the window will catch on the weatherstripping. It's a common problem apparently. The car does ride ok. I would like the suspension to be softer, but it is a Bug and not a Cadillac. Brakes work great. Engine compartment is very packed so if you do your own maintenance bring your patience. All in all a good little car, the wife loves it.
