I purchased a VW Beetle Turbo S from CarMax in 2005 (7 years
ago) and not only do I still own it; this bug still puts a smile on my face after a drive on a mountain road. I have not had any
issues with my bug other than a couple of cosmetic items (cracked turn signal light from a rock and the odd rock chip)
The exterior styling, with different front & rear valances, sets the
S apart from regular bugs. The interior looks like new with the
black & grey leather seats that feel & sit great. Even the back
seat's bucket style sets it apart from the regular bug.
The 1.8 turbo with the 6 speed manual are a great combo of power and fuel economy. I get 31 MPG if I drive like an adult,
which is hard to do in this car. Word of advise; I followed the
maintenance schedule to the letter which helped keep my bug
& me happy. Only 5000 Turbo S's were built per year from 2002-05 so if you can find a good one; BUY IT!
This was a good value for the money. It had just over 10,000 miles on it and is loaded. It has every option we could need except for Homelink and Navigation. A spare clicker and Waze met those needs. The car is fun to to drive and the Turbo Charged 2.0 L has plenty of power. If you are not careful when starting off, you can easily spin the tires. We traded another popular 2 seater convertible for this one and while we did not sacrifice the fun factor, we gained in the "comfort" factor. We are averaging in the mid 20's on miles per gallon for city.
Wonderful car-- I absolutely love my beetle!!!

It's a good quality economy car. Perfect for a single person.
Nothing compares to the feeling of the wind whipping your hair back as you cruise in a well-built convertible. Well, almost nothing—the feeling of getting a great deal on your vehicle purchase is definitely a close second. You can enjoy both of these awesome sensations at the same time by selecting a high-quality convertible that sells for less than $20,000.
