Excellent Quality, Great Mileage, Fun to Drive

2012 Volkswagen Golf G Lowell - Herndon, VA 05/20/2016

I own a 4dr manual shift, black on black, bought it 4 years ago and it now has north of 67k miles. One of the few small cars that I can set the driver's seat to my comfort and then sit comfortably behind myself (I am 6'2"). It is a nimble car and fun to drive-great handling. I average about 52 mpg in the summer and about 46 in the winter. Dealer maintenance is a bit pricey but comes at 10k mile intervals. I have no trouble with blind spots or visibility-google how to set your mirrors to avoid blind spots. Good sound system, great brakes, good power, warms up quickly in the winter. New tires at 65k miles. Auto-down on all 4 windows. Have had no problems at all with this car.

Golf is Top!

2004 Volkswagen Golf Gerissen - Southest USA 06/08/2007

I am enjoying my Golf GL very much! It's handsome, and the fit and finish inside is very nice. I found many of the other hatchbacks to have poor and cheaply fabricated interiours, but not so for the Golf. It has clever adjustments and is user-friendly all over. The safety features are super, and the fuel efficiency is excellent also. It has all the torque I need, tight handling, and the visibility from the driver's seat is very good. It does not have a 'small car feel', and is not cramped inside for me. All the instruments have sensible placement, and the stereo sounds super, too. I hope everyone else can discover what Europe knows all along: small cars are efficient, cute, fun, and economical! Less is more, and it's good for you and the planet!

2005 GL 2.0L 8v 4drs

2005 Volkswagen Golf Sil - Katy, TX 09/10/2008

What the car lacks in performance in the engine department, it makes up for it on reliability and good gas millage. I own a 5speed so that might have some to do with it but 27mpg is common for me with a mix of hwy and lots of city driving. This car is good for your average commute; work, shopping; etc. It has plenty of space, just fold down the back two seats and you got a darn good size trunk/hatch space. Honestly you cant go wrong, with a 2.0 (8v) Golf, also known as the 2.slow. Unless you're a speed fanatic then I suggest go with the 1.8t (20v) Gti. All the features are easy to operate my radio not being a Monsoon still puts out quite a good sound. The only difference from Monsoon and your regular radio is a astounding 10rms!!! Keep that in mind, an aftermarket deck will outplay a Monsoon any day at 25rms average. The colors at night on the radio and the dash are great, blue and red. Comfort on the car could be better, but then again it isn't your SUV its a compact hatch. The seats are very comfortable (front), back ones are good for smaller people :) OR Cargo!!! The cupholders are quite tricky, as you have your handbrake right next to both of them, lesson learned; Keep the bigger cups toward the back. But there are only a few negatives. The smooth ride, quiet interior, and seats easy to adjust compesates for the not so wonderful cupholders. Now the main reason I bought the car...Safety, you cant beat it. This car has one of the best safety records around. I believe my model has 6 airbags! So if you're looking for a safe, economical, practical car. Here's your sign...
