This car makes me so happy. It has all the tech features of the new hybrids - a great stereo (Fender), panel display etc. It has serious power - I haven't even tried to put my foot down for a prolonged period of time because it goes zero-fast in no time at all. It has fun features we keep finding - like it lights up the side of the road when you put your signal on. The heated seats come on lightning fast on those cold mornings. The defroster for front and back windows takes just seconds, as does the air-conditioning. And of course the gas mileage is ridiculously good - about 39 mpg for me so far.

Pros

Fuel Economy: 39 mpg - i never go to the gas station
Power: There is never a doubt that you can pass on the uphill
Technology and Entertainment: Fender radio, fun panel features to play with

Cons

Cabin Noise: The premium SEL wheels make highway driving a bit loud
Cargo Space: The battery does make you sacrifice trunk space a bit

I'm more of a Full Size Sedan type of person, but I got the Jetta Hybrid for HOV advantages in VA, and it doesn't "Look" like the many Hybrids out there. I love it, I drive around 500-600 miles a week...

I'm more of a Full Size Sedan type of person, but I got the Jetta Hybrid for HOV advantages in VA, and it doesn't "Look" like the many Hybrids out there. I love it, I drive around 500-600 miles a week, averaging around 43 MPG hwy. I read many reviews about how many hybrids are sluggish, and that's absolutely not the case with this car. The regenerative braking takes some getting used to, as they're more touchy than an a non-hybrid. Picture getting new brakes that never break in. The car can ride for around 10 miles on pure electricity, and if you're in the city you should have no problem keeping the battery charged. I've got a love/hate with idling in batter power though, because while it saves gas, it sometimes hesitates off the line.

The gas mileage isn't near what they said and I wanted. It averages 35mpg with city and highway. 39 is the best I've gotten out of a tank. I'd buy the diesel if I got a do over.

Interior Space: there is so much room in the cabin, great for car trips
Styling: pretty
Power: the turbo is nice

Cargo Space: the battery takes up so much trunk space
Fuel Economy: not near where they said
Ride and Handling: very shakey on the highway
