Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.5 reviews) I bought a 2009 Jetta from Carmax 4 days ago, and I'm completely happy with the purchase. The car is stylish, convenient with satellite radio, sunroof, and other perks that I didn't even expect -- and it drives beautifully. Most importantly, I feel very safe. I am happy with the price I paid and think I got a great deal. It looks and drive like it was more expensive than it was. Took the car to my longtime trusted mechanic this morning, and he said the car looks super clean underneath. He didn't find any problems at all. I'm also happy with the reasonably small size of the sedan for parking, and the spacious comfy seating once you get in. Best of both worlds. Getting ready to drive my new baby to the beach, and I can't wait!

Great car

So many good things to say about this car. Starting with aesthetics: the interior if the car is very well laid out. I have the Jetta SportWagen. The front seats are heated, the back seats fold flat, and in the winter, the design of the heating/cooling system very effective in very little time. The vehicle computer is easily configured to your preferences and provides accurate trip and efficiency information. The radio, while the base model, sounds great and packs a punch. The included auxiliary input makes playing music through my iPod seamless. As for the exterior, it is the same design as the 2005.5-2009 model Jetta sedans, which would make parts swapping hassle free. The base model has a lowline vehicle computer, which only means it doesn't have factory fog lights. The headlights are very bright and crisp. The same can be said for the reverse lights: very bright and effective. There is a bit of a blind spot with the front seat head rests, but those can be adjusted to avoid that. The engine is quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful ride, even at highway speeds. There's a feature called Tip-Tronic, where you can manually shift to a different gear. This is great when in slippery conditions, or where braking action is poor. Also, there's a Sport mode on the gear selector lever. This is most beneficial in situations where quick acceleration is required. The included side rails along the roof make attaching a roof rack very simple. It just clips on and tightens. The antenna is quite long, and centered on the end of the roof, so this will need to be taken into co side ration when attaching roof accessories. Performance: it accelerates quickly, brakes easily and softly, and stays quiet enough to enjoy your favorite song from your MP3 player. Windows are quickly defogged and the air conditioner blows cold air fast. Bottom line: it's a great car that's great on mileage and is a great value. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable gas-sipping vehicle.

Excellent upgrade!

After driving a Volkswagen Beetle for 10 years, I was ready to upgrade to something with a bit more power and, more importantly, more space. I bought my '09 Jetta Sportwagen SE in July and have since taken it on a cross-country vacation. It was perfect for my family needs. A very satisfying 31 mpg highway was even better than I expected and the car handled all types of terrain like a pro. Not to mention the full length sunroof, which made it exceptionally easy to forget it wasn't a sports car! I can't say enough good things about my new Jetta Sportwagen!

2009 Jetta TDI Rocks!

I commute a hundred plus miles a day so I was looking for a fuel efficient vehicle that I wouldn't be embarassed to be seen in. I had long heard of how great VW's were and that diesels were an underrated technology but I was taken off guard by how much diesels had evolved since the early days! The low end torque this car produces makes it pretty quick for a 4-banger and it is probably the most comfortable "sporty" type car I have ever driven (the most comfortable overall had to be the Mercury Grand Marquis). OK so long story short, almost 6 months and 11K miles later I am loving this car and enjoying the 45MPG! Even in town I get 35MPG and I've observed 50+MPG on the highway when I am able to keep the speed under 75MPH. Car only has 109K miles which for a diesel is just about broken in!
