Reviews for 2009 Volkswagen Jetta
2009 Great Value Jetta
I bought a truck from CarMax Summer of 2011. Because of the poor economy and a job loss in my family, I was not able to keep the truck and traded it in for the 2009 Jetta. The Jetta looked very good and drove like a new car. The fuel economy fits my wallet better and I can handle the payments better and know it will be reliable. Carmax also treated me well and didn't try to "up-sell" me when I explained my financial situation.
Fun family car
The Sportwagen offers great cargo space and a comfortable ride for our growing family, while remaining fun to drive. We have the manual transmission, which we have really enjoyed.
So many good things to say about this car. Starting with aesthetics: the interior if the car is very well laid out. I have the Jetta SportWagen. The front seats are heated, the back seats fold flat, and in the winter, the design of the heating/cooling system very effective in very little time. The vehicle computer is easily configured to your preferences and provides accurate trip and efficiency information. The radio, while the base model, sounds great and packs a punch. The included auxiliary input makes playing music through my iPod seamless. As for the exterior, it is the same design as the 2005.5-2009 model Jetta sedans, which would make parts swapping hassle free. The base model has a lowline vehicle computer, which only means it doesn't have factory fog lights. The headlights are very bright and crisp. The same can be said for the reverse lights: very bright and effective. There is a bit of a blind spot with the front seat head rests, but those can be adjusted to avoid that. The engine is quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful ride, even at highway speeds. There's a feature called Tip-Tronic, where you can manually shift to a different gear. This is great when in slippery conditions, or where braking action is poor. Also, there's a Sport mode on the gear selector lever. This is most beneficial in situations where quick acceleration is required. The included side rails along the roof make attaching a roof rack very simple. It just clips on and tightens. The antenna is quite long, and centered on the end of the roof, so this will need to be taken into co side ration when attaching roof accessories. Performance: it accelerates quickly, brakes easily and softly, and stays quiet enough to enjoy your favorite song from your MP3 player. Windows are quickly defogged and the air conditioner blows cold air fast. Bottom line: it's a great car that's great on mileage and is a great value. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable gas-sipping vehicle.
