2010 Volkswagen JettaChris Mazuros - St Petersburg, FL03/14/2016
The Jetta TDI wagon is the golf GTD that I have been wanting Volkswagen to import for years. Based on an extended 4 door GTI chassis with the same brakes and suspension it is a pleasure to drive. The 6 speed manual transmission is silky and the 236lbft.of torque make it loads of fun to toss around in city traffic or a curvy back road. Having the added space of the wagon allows me to load up my wife and our 4 large dogs for trips to the beach and park. 42 miles per gallon at 75mph on the highway has me smiling all the way to the bank! Yeah there is the emissions scandal, but VW will have to fix it. The benefit now is that they can be found at great prices.
This car drove incredibly well, got fantastic gas mileage, and was very comfortable. Unfortunately, I was in a collision earlier this week. I was hit head on going 45mph and I walked away from the accident unfazed. This car was so safe and I felt so fortunate to be in such a safe vehicle.
I am not too familiar with German cars, I noticed this car takes a long time (more than 15 min) for the A/C to get cold. Then it does blows cold. In Miami, this is critical. My other vehicles don't do that. No matter how hot is outside. It spends a lot of gas for a compact vehicle. We just have it for a short time, My daughter drives it, I need to get organized to take it to the dealers for a check up or some orientation. But I am not as happy as I was when I bought any of my others cars
