Used 2009 Volkswagen Jetta SE for Sale
Reviews for 2009 Volkswagen Jetta
love my car.
Great on gas mileage. Stylish and fun to drive.
So many good things to say about this car. Starting with aesthetics: the interior if the car is very well laid out. I have the Jetta SportWagen. The front seats are heated, the back seats fold flat, and in the winter, the design of the heating/cooling system very effective in very little time. The vehicle computer is easily configured to your preferences and provides accurate trip and efficiency information. The radio, while the base model, sounds great and packs a punch. The included auxiliary input makes playing music through my iPod seamless. As for the exterior, it is the same design as the 2005.5-2009 model Jetta sedans, which would make parts swapping hassle free. The base model has a lowline vehicle computer, which only means it doesn't have factory fog lights. The headlights are very bright and crisp. The same can be said for the reverse lights: very bright and effective. There is a bit of a blind spot with the front seat head rests, but those can be adjusted to avoid that. The engine is quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful ride, even at highway speeds. There's a feature called Tip-Tronic, where you can manually shift to a different gear. This is great when in slippery conditions, or where braking action is poor. Also, there's a Sport mode on the gear selector lever. This is most beneficial in situations where quick acceleration is required. The included side rails along the roof make attaching a roof rack very simple. It just clips on and tightens. The antenna is quite long, and centered on the end of the roof, so this will need to be taken into co side ration when attaching roof accessories. Performance: it accelerates quickly, brakes easily and softly, and stays quiet enough to enjoy your favorite song from your MP3 player. Windows are quickly defogged and the air conditioner blows cold air fast. Bottom line: it's a great car that's great on mileage and is a great value. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable gas-sipping vehicle.
Jetta Wolfsburg DSG
I bought the Jetta Wolfsburg because I was looking to get the highest performing 4 door sedan that I could with the lowest miles for under 20k. I probably wouldn't have even considered looking at Volkswagen otherwise. However, that would probably have been a mistake. I've been pleasantly surprised by what the car has to offer. The interior is solid, comfortable, and is pleasantly appointed. The exterior...isn't exciting, but it's a clean design which doesn't waste any effort on pretending to be something it's not (say, with the pretend air rams and other faux stylings of some cars). The 2.0 litre turbocharged engine is peppy and fun to drive, and the suspension is solid and fairly stiff without being uncomfortable. I'd personally prefer something a little stiffer, but it does strike a useful balance between performance and comfort. I have the DSG transmission, which I quite enjoy. The Sport vs Drive mode can be very useful, and I like being able to switch it over into 'manual' mode if I so desire. My previous car was a manual, and while there were things I enjoyed about that, I really like that every shift in this car is 'perfect', never misses a gear, shifts quickly every time. It's definitely consistently speedy on the shifts in a way a human never could be. Pros: Driving performance (engine, transmission, traction control, stability control) Price Interior styling Good-sized trunk Cons: Interior storage (very limited) Missing some amenities (notably auto-headlights) Only 1 in-cabin lighter socket
