VW has admitted to installing so-called defeat devices on Volkswagen and Audi cars with four-cylinder diesel engines dating to the 2009 model year. Affected models include the Jetta, Golf, Beetle, Passat and Audi A3. VW has said a total of 11 million cars worldwide have the software worldwide.
Very nice car for the value. I've driven many cars and this one will rank among the highest. The transmission is a little jerky- No reliability issues. Other than that, I can not complain. Safety is my number one priority. I always double check safety ratings and this was among the highest. With two small children, we need a safe, reliable, and stylish car. I will definitely buy one again. VW!!
First Class Sedan with Great Fuel Mileage!

When I purchased this car, I made my decision based mostly on the turbo diesel specification, and interior/cargo space. The ride comfort, sound system and interior controls were just an added bonus. After the first week of owning this car, I got a couple of fault codes which resulted in the replacement of a new turbo. Turbo replacement is common, and the folks at Volkswagen have me covered for free for 5 years/60,000 miles. Even during the fault codes, this car never left me stranded. I am a mechanic as well, so even if my vehicle would have been out-of-warranty, I would have replaced the parts myself and kept the vehicle.
On a full tank of fuel, I can easily drive 800 miles with about 30-40 miles to spare before filling up!
