VW "dieselgate", sluggish at the helm, leans in curves, no sound insulation in roof, which makes downpours sound like hail on a tin roof, sound system adequate bot not good, diesel engine not as quiet as gas engine at idle, suspension can be a little floaty over some dips in the road. Crummy Hankook stock tires make a lot of noise on coarse pavement. radio take several seconds to change channels so if you're cycling through stations you have spend a lot of time waiting.
She is just such a great car she goes fast and I haven't had any maintaince problems with her yet. The oil changes are a little pricey but they last so much longer than the normal regular oil change. She's roomy inside and I have all the extra features that I wanted besides the push start. I would totally recommend this car to anyone!
FIrstly, I love VWs. This is my 3rd GLI. I sought it out and bought it when I could have owned a much more expensive VeeDub (CC) or one of a different brand. It looks beautiful and still a bit edgy with the ability to turn a head or two. Feels like 50 more horsepower than the listed 210. It's German-ly sensible but still well appointed. And did I mention it looks incredible. There is no scandal with this car. Own one and be happy. Das Auto indeed!!!
