Transmission: Automatic Color:Red Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.727 reviews) We purchased the VW Routan a few months ago, since then we have driven to Disney and back (1500 miles) With 3 kids and luggage loaded we still had plenty of room. The two screen DVD is great and the kids love being able to play 2 different movies at the same time, Mom and Dad love it more! This is my third VW (00' golf, 07 Passat previously) so I am pretty much a VW guy. The first thing anyone should know is that the Routan is a Chrysler with VW branding and a few VW upgrades. I wish they had included a bit more of the VW touches, such as the paddle bars for cruise control, wipers, etc. I think the exterior is well done and has the look of a VW. The powerplant is adequate. The transmission seems to have to shift to a lower gear pulling up hills on the interstate at high speeds(75-80). We will see over time how this plays out. The fuel economy is pretty good for the engine and size of vehicle. 27mpg on the highway running 75-80. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase, we could not have gotten all of the bells and whistles on a Yukon or Suburban at the price level of the Routan. I would tell anyone to purchase the Routan, but know that it is a Chrysler at heart and not a VW.

Not quite a VW, but pretty good!

As never expected!

Our car is an awesome surprise! Frankly, I am not into vans at all. Mostly used to sport cars, even SUVs seemed to me bulky and slow. This is the oposite. Very sleek, powerful and maneuverable, feels like a Passat, only with better view! Great comfort and space, and versatile seat management. Economic and fast. Great amenities. Best family car I've had.

Good car

It's great for keeping the kids entertained. DVD players & outlets for them to keep busy.
