Used 2011 Volkswagen Routan SE for Sale
Reviews for 2011 Volkswagen Routan
This is one of the best minivans ever I previous had a dodge and had problems with passengers who were large both in height and weight and they never felt comfortable sitting in the back either in the second or third rows. With the VW my passengers are comfortable and have plenty of leg room with the newer models the seats move forward or back for extra comfort. The driive is smooth and has plenty of pick up and go. I have been able to carry a 4 by 8 foot sheets of wood or even beams by removing the seats in the second row yes this can be a hasle but they are easy to remove and reinstall. The other nice part about the VW is that there is no engine noise or outside noises so you are able to carry on a conversation to the other passengers in the car with out yelling. The most important thing about the Routan is that its saftey, air bags all around makes it one of the safest cars. I know this because I have survived a roll over accident and this is the biggest reason why I bought another Routan.
This car runs great. I would recommend to a friend.
Not quite a VW, but pretty good!
We purchased the VW Routan a few months ago, since then we have driven to Disney and back (1500 miles) With 3 kids and luggage loaded we still had plenty of room. The two screen DVD is great and the kids love being able to play 2 different movies at the same time, Mom and Dad love it more! This is my third VW (00' golf, 07 Passat previously) so I am pretty much a VW guy. The first thing anyone should know is that the Routan is a Chrysler with VW branding and a few VW upgrades. I wish they had included a bit more of the VW touches, such as the paddle bars for cruise control, wipers, etc. I think the exterior is well done and has the look of a VW. The powerplant is adequate. The transmission seems to have to shift to a lower gear pulling up hills on the interstate at high speeds(75-80). We will see over time how this plays out. The fuel economy is pretty good for the engine and size of vehicle. 27mpg on the highway running 75-80. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase, we could not have gotten all of the bells and whistles on a Yukon or Suburban at the price level of the Routan. I would tell anyone to purchase the Routan, but know that it is a Chrysler at heart and not a VW.
