The car I purchased is a VW Touareg V8. Runs great. Fairly large vehicle. It weights over 5200 #'s so there is a mass effect.
Gas milage is terrible. Averages about 17 mpg. But is has plenty of power. Has a tow of over 7000#'s.
Drives nice, comfy seats, quality leather. Adjustable everything.
Big tires so holds the road. Goes great in the snow. Very good brakes. Good HVAC controls and confort.
Touareg has a separate website for enthueist. Good information.
Will buy a Touareg again maybe a diesel next time since it has much better milage without scrifices to the comfort and durablity.
Great Car, be ready to spend money on gas...

2008 Volkswagen Touaregretired bad back - Research Triangle, North Carolina07/19/2009
I chose this car because my son who is very interested in cars did lots of research and ended up suggesting this car because of its ease of handling, spacious front seat, my spouse has a very stiff back and needs ease of getting in and out and because it is a good looking car with safety features I think important for seniors which we are. I also like the cargo space.
